Difference between circuit breaker and disconnector

1. The circuit breaker has an arc extinguishing device, so the circuit breaker can operate with load, not only the load current, but also the fault (short circuit) current. The isolating switch does not have an arc extinguishing device. Although the regulations stipulate that it can be operated in a load current of less than 5A, it generally cannot be operated with a load.
2. The circuit breaker has a good packaging form, so simply observing the circuit breaker cannot intuitively determine whether it is in the closed or open position. The isolation switch has a simple structure, and its operating status can be seen at a glance from the appearance, and there are obvious disconnect points during maintenance.
3. Most of the circuit breakers are operated by remote electric control, while the disconnectors are mostly manually operated on site.
